Project Spotlight

The Menzies Lab and Brazil's Ministry of Health Collaborate to Evaluate TB Related Policy and Programs

The Menzies Lab and the Department of Global Health and Population, with the leading support of Marcia Castro and Nicolas Menzies, collaborates with Brazil Ministry of Health to investigate the health impact and cost-effectiveness of Tuberculosis-related policy options and control programs in Brazil population. They use mathematical modelling approaches, leveraging national data, to estimate TB trends and evaluate TB care and treatment outcomes across Brazil. Their areas of Brazil TB work include but are not limited to drug-resistant TB, latent TB infection, TB disease burden, as well as TB notification and care cascade. This research received funding from the Lemann Brazil Research Fund.
