“Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Longitudinal Emotional-Behavioral Functioning Among Youth Born to Women Living with HIV”

ABSTRACT: Youth with perinatal HIV exposure have demonstrated high rates of emotional-behavioral problems. Few studies have longitudinally examined racial/ethnic disparities in such functioning across adolescence, a critical time for targeting much-needed prevention/intervention efforts. In this talk, I will discuss how we used two statistical approaches, a traditional and a novel approach, to study disparities in emotional-behavioral trajectories among youth with perinatal HIV exposure in a cohort study at 15 US-based research sites.
