Teaching Citation Award

The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Teaching Awards represent a unique opportunity for students to reward instructors who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, as characterized by commitment, preparation, quality of presentation, time for questions, and other factors related to instruction.

Eligibility

Eligible nominees include any course instructors at Harvard Chan who have not won this award in the last five years.

Criteria

The nominee must have:

  • Received high overall course and teaching rating
  • Taught two or more courses at the School
  • Received positive student comments

Nomination

Teaching Citation Awards are awarded to course instructors based on student course evaluations, particularly questions that assess teaching quality and teaching effectiveness.

Students: To include your course evaluation in this process, it must be submitted by noon on May 10, 2024. (Please note that students may complete their course evaluation after May 10, 2024, but feedback after that date cannot be considered as part of the awarding process.)

Selection

A committee with representatives from the Office for Education, Committee on Educational Policy, and Committee on Admissions and Degrees selects the TA Award winners, based on the above criteria.

The recipient of the Teaching Citation Award will be announced during our graduation award ceremony.
