Lorenzo Trippa Promotion to Associate Professor

Congratulations to Lorenzo Trippa on his promotion to

Associate Professor of Biostatistics!

Dr. Trippa’s research focuses on three areas: the development of statistical methods and designs for randomized clinical trials; the theory and application of Bayesian nonparametric models; and statistical methods to measure and enhance replicability in science. Regarding Bayesian clinical trials, he creates innovative trial designs that are both practical and efficient. Dr. Trippa’s work in Bayesian nonparametric models improves computational techniques and software with the goal of simplifying Bayesian models. In studying the development of statistical methods for reproducible science, he aims to improve levels of replicability in biomedical studies and gain more precise control of false positive results.

Dr. Trippa earned an MS in Statistics from Bicocca University and a PhD in Statistics from Bocconi University in Italy. After completing postdoctoral fellowships in the School’s Biostatistics Department and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Biostatistics and Computational Biology, he became an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in those departments in 2011. He has served on the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Scientific Review Committee since 2013 and has been a member of the Biostatistics Colloquium and Admissions committees.
