Over the weekend, doctoral student Jemar Bather had the opportunity to speak with masters students during the annual “A3SR Professional Development Workshop” at his alma mater, New York University. The event was hosted by NYU’s MS in Applied Statistics for Social Science Research Program and aimed to provide students with advice on pursuing doctoral education after graduation, landing jobs, and salary negotiations. Jemar personally spoke to students about the steps he took to increase his chances of being accepted into the Biostats PhD program and some of the things he did to make his application stand out.
