Wireless Access

Supported with Harvard Wifi, eduroam

The Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health has deployed wireless access points to all floors and buildings. Wireless connectivity is available to Harvard staff, faculty, students, alumni, invited guests and visitors to campus.

For members of the Harvard Community

As a member of the Harvard community, you should have a HarvardKey username and password.  You will need this credential for any of the connection options detailed below.

For devices capable of secure wireless access, typically your laptop or mobile device, we highly recommend that you connect to a secure wireless network.  Your options include the “Harvard Secure” wireless network, the preferred option when on-campus, or the “eduroam” wireless network.  The “eduroam” network is a secure, worldwide Wi-Fi roaming for the research and education community – HarvardKey holders may access “eduroam” wireless networks at participating educational and research institutions around the world.

Connecting to “Harvard Secure”

This access method utilizes the industry’s latest encryption and authentication standards to provide a secure wireless connection using your HarvardKey. This connection method is preferred and recommended for all personnel and students who deal with sensitive or secure information.

Connecting to “eduroam”

eduroam (education roaming) is the secure worldwide federated network access service developed for the international research and education community. This link will pre-configure wireless devices for seamless wireless access when visiting eduroam member institutions.

For guests or visitors to Harvard

If you are a long-term sponsored guest and have received a HarvardKey username and password, please follow the instructions above based upon your computer/device type.

Guests to Harvard must connect to the “Harvard University” wireless network.  If you have received a guest credential from a Harvard community member, you are considered an invited guest and should follow the appropriate directions above to connect to Harvard Wi-Fi.  If you are just visiting campus and do not have a guest credential please follow the appropriate directions below to connect to Harvard Wi-Fi.
