Alumni News – Chronic Neck Pain Study

Andrea CookAfter conducting a two-phase randomized trial for 179 individuals with chronic nonspecific neck pain, Andrea J. Cook, PhD ’05, from the Group Health Research Institute in Seattle, and colleagues found that a booster dose of additional massages may be effective for reducing pain and dysfunction.  The full study, Randomized clinical trial assessing whether additional massage treatments for chronic neck pain improve 12- and 26-week outcomes, was recently published in The Spine Journal.
