AISES Conference

Heather MattieJust before Thanksgiving, doctoral candidate Heather Mattie gave a talk entitled “Biostatistics: Using Numbers to Improve Health and Help Communities Thrive” at the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) conference in Phoenix, AZ. Her talk aimed to generate increased awareness of biostatistics among undergraduate students who might not otherwise learn about the field. Heather represented the Department of Biostatistics throughout the conference, sharing information about our PhD and masters programs and spreading awareness of the Summer Program in Biostatistics and Computational Biology.
