PQG Conference: Single-Cell Genomics

Now in its 9th year, the Program in Quantitative Genomics (PQG) held another successful conference in November on Single Cell Genomics.  Approximately 130 people gathered for scientific presentations by keynote speakers George Church, Michael Elowitz, and Sten Linnarsson, who discussed emerging technologies of single-cell analysis and its applications to biomedical research and public health. A diverse group of several other distinguished scientists gave extremely cutting edge presentations on the following topics:

·    Emerging technologies for genome-scale single-cell analysis
·    Computational methods for analyzing single-cell genomic data
·    Applications of single-cell technologies in human health & diseases

Three junior researchers who submitted the best abstracts, including Stephanie Hicks, also received the opportunity to present short platform talks during the conference as well.  Thank you to conference chair GC Yuan for all his efforts in making the conference such a success.
