Join Scott Evans, David Shapiro, Carlee Moser, alumni Summer Zheng and Ritesh Ramchandani, and hiring manager Rachel Sotak for a lunch panel presentation and discussion on topics from current CBAR research and ongoing clinical trials, to individual experiences of alumni currently working there, to real-time job search advice!

This is a great opportunity to hear what it’s like to work in a collaborative research environment as a biostatistician as well as ask questions about CBAR’s current openings for PhD level Research Associates. 

Panelists will address the following questions:

* What is it like to be a statistician at CBAR?
* What cutting edge research is ongoing across several of CBAR’s major networks (which include the AIDS Clinical Trial Group (ACTG) and the Infant Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT))

WRITING WORKSHOP – 3/30

Workshop 2 – Editing and Style
This upcoming session will be used to review iterative editing processes and style considerations to strengthen and add polish to your writing.

The goal of the writing workshop is to help students and postdocs build writing skills for academic and professional contexts. Each meeting will focus on a particular skill, and will include exercises, as well as time for discussion of individual work. Particular emphasis will be placed on creating a solid structure for communicating ideas, building sound editing skills, and developing clarity and economy in written work. Please come prepared with writing samples that you would like to work on with the group.

PUBLIC SPEAKING WORKSHOP – 4/4

The goal of the public speaking workshop is to help students and postdocs become more comfortable and confident in speaking in front of groups, and to learn by giving and receiving feedback from their peers. Please come prepared to get up in front of the group and give a 5-10 minute talk on your work, a journal, something you need to practice for class, etc.
