Student Stories: Climbing Kilimanjaro

Doctoral students Isabel Fulcher and Georgia Papadogeorgou accomplished an amazing feat this past week as they climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa’s highest peak at 19,341 feet.

During the weeklong trip, they took the Machame route, going through the rainforest, moorlands, and alpine desert. On their last day, they hiked at midnight for a climb of over 4,000 feet to reach the peak. Congratulations!
