New Course in Reproducible Research

The Department would like to announce a new course in reproducible research that addresses the increasing need for scientific rigor and transparency in studies of biomedical data. Course content has been made available both online in the form of a HarvardX series of videos, and a blended course, BST 270, taught by Heather Mattie in Fall 1. The instructors of the HarvardX course include Dr. Curtis Huttenhower, Dr. John Quackenbush, Dr. Lorenzo Trippa and Dr. Christine Choirat, and all videos will be available to the public on edX after the course launches in early November. The course was funded through a NIGMS T32 supplement (PIs: Xihong Lin and Curtis Huttenhower). Topics include: Fundamentals of Reproducible Science (RS), Case Studies, Data Provenance, Statistical Methods and Computational Tools for RS, and Reproducible Reporting Science.
