The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Physical Sciences-Oncology Center (DFCI PS-OC) is dedicated to developing pilot projects in order to enhance the specific efforts of the PS-OC in the framework of evolutionary dynamics of cancer initiation, progression, therapy, and resistance. Our pilot projects will allow us to collaborate with the expertise of outside individuals from the Physical Sciences-Oncology Network, other Centers for Cancer Systems Biology, the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Data Sciences Program, the Harvard Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology, the DFCI Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, the Harvard School of Public Health Department of Biostatistics, and others. Furthermore, pilot projects also foster new research ideas from investigators within our PS-OC and we welcome applications from our PS-OC and related labs. Please note that the integration of physical sciences and oncology is of special importance for a successful application. We strongly encourage the project application to be based on collaborative efforts with existing DFCI PS-OC investigators and postdoctoral fellows.
We would like to solicit pilot project applications with this call. Applications by postdoctoral fellows as PIs are acceptable. Your proposal should not exceed 3 pages and should contain a detailed budget and a brief description of how these funds will contribute to or accelerate the overall success of the DFCI PS-OC. Proposals may request support of up to a maximum of $130,000 total costs for the duration of Year 4 of the DFCI PS-OC. Please budget according to
what you actually need for your proposal. We anticipate funding up to three projects.
Please submit research applications via email to smaisel@jimmy.harvard.edu. Applications must be received by June 1st , 2018, 5pm EST.
