Farewell Party for Cory Zigler – 7/20

RSVP

Please join us to express our thanks for Cory Zigler’s many important contributions to the School and wish him well in his new role as Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Texas at Austin.

Cory joined the faculty in 2013 as an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics, and was promoted to Associate Professor of Biostatistics in 2018.

Cory has made central contributions in the fields of Bayesian statistics, causal inference, comparative effectiveness research, and environmental health data science. Through this work, Cory has had a significant impact on the way environmental regulators interpret the evidence of causality in data on the effectiveness of clean air regulations in the environmental health sciences. He has been very active in the field, serving as an Associate Editor for Biostatistics and on multiple national committees, including organizing committees for the International Conference for Health Policy Statistics and the New England Statistics Symposium, the ENAR Regional Advisory Board, and as Program Chair for the ASA Health Policy Statistics Section.

Here at the School, Cory has been a strong teacher and mentor to students and postdoctoral fellows in Biostatistics and the Chan School more generally. We also thank him for chairing the Department’s Colloquium Committee and for serving as a member of the School’s Faculty Council. Cory will be greatly missed!
