HIPAA and the AWS Shared Responsibility Model Workshop

This workshop is to aim to clarify HIPAA requirements and practice of using AWS Cloud Computing to handle secure HIPAA data. This event is designed to help research computing and data analysis users to have knowledge of cloud data security if they want to use cloud computing for their work.
HIPAA Research Workshop Outline (4 hours)
Overview of the requirements of HIPAA and the AWS Shared Responsibility Model (45 min)
Specific AWS approaches to the four given scenarios (1 Hr)
How to transfer HIPAA data from HSPH to AWS and store it securely
How to transfer regulated data from government sources (NIH, dbGaP) to AWS and store it securely
How to transfer data from AWS to HSPH securely
How to share data on AWS securely
Break (15 min)
The AWS HIPAA Quick Start (30 min)
Lab: Deploying and using Jupyter Notebooks (Python) in AWS (45 min)
Lab: Deploying and using RStudio (R) in AWS (45 min)
