Donald Hopkins Program Begins 2nd Year

Donald HopkinsIn September 2019 the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health introduced the Donald Hopkins Predoctoral Scholars Program as a pipeline program designed to increase diversity in the STEM fields and to enhance the quality of the educational experience of underrepresented students. The program allows accepted students the opportunity to study at the master’s level at the Harvard Chan School in anticipation of further study toward a doctoral degree. The scholars receive mentorship by faculty, staff, and their peers and are given an opportunity to attend workshops focused on professional development. The program is supported by both the Dean’s Office and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Betty Johnson along with Marcello Pagano serve as co-chairs. Scholars are chosen in the departments of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Global Health and Populations.
