“Missing Data Methods: Past, Present and Future”

I will review the statistics literature on missing data methods from a historical perspective, and discuss some recent model-based methods for missing data, causal inference under confounding by indication, and measures of selection bias from non-probability samples.

The award will be presented to Dr. Little in recognition of his fundamental contributions to statistical theory, applications and real world practice; his leadership in the advancement of statistical methodology in missing data and sample surveys; his instrumental role in the growth and success of the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan; his influential role in public policy issues and years of service on national advisory committees and statistical societies; his commitment to mentoring the next generation of statisticians; and the exceptional impact of his career on students and researchers at his universities, throughout the country and beyond.
