Professor Xihong Lin was recently interviewed by Amstat News in a piece titled “Xihong Lin: On the Front Lines of COVID-19 Research.” The article explores the enormous contributions she has made to COVID-19 research and the challenges she has faced during the pandemic. Of her experience, Dr Lin says “If biostatisticians and statisticians want to make an impact in the world, we must learn how to effectively communicate with the policymakers and the general public on scientific findings, build public trust, and engage them in implementing these recommendations. We can have the most beautiful data findings, but if they cannot be implemented, it will be impossible to have an impact.”
