Faculty Competitive Research FundThe 2023 HDSI Faculty Competitive Research Fund is designed to coalesce and accelerate methodologically-focused research across disciplines. For the first time this year, the Fund also will support research in the area of impact computing through the AWS Impact Computing Project at the HDSI. Individuals who hold a faculty appointment at a Harvard school and who have principal investigator rights at that school are encouraged to apply.Award Amount: $5,000 – $100,000 for one – two years (the Fund will support awards of up to $100,000 each).Deadline: 11:59 PM | May 24, 2023Postdoctoral Fellows Research FundThe Harvard Data Science Initiative welcomes applications for our fourth annual HDSI Postdoctoral Fellows Research Fund. The goal of the fund is to incentivize and support cross-disciplinary collaboration between data scientists at the postdoctoral level. This year, we envisage making a single award of up to $25,000, and two to three smaller awards of $5,000-10,000 each. Funds may be used to hire students, buy access to data or software; or for travel and conference fees. Proposed projects should take a maximum of one year to complete. Eligible Applicants: ALL Harvard postdoctoral scholars on fixed-term contracts. Applicants must have at least 7 months remaining in their contract by the May deadline. Deadline: 11:59 PM | May 24, 2023Faculty Special Projects FundThe HDSI Faculty Special Projects Fund is intended to support one-time data science opportunities for which other funding is not readily available. Applicants may request funding of up to $5,000 in support.
