Congratulations to Victoria Zinsmeyer, a Masters student in the Computational Biology and Quantitative Genetics program, who was accepted into the Genomics Experiences for Masters Students (GEMS), a 12-week summer program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC within the department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. The program is in its second year and accepts only 5-6 students. Victoria will be assigned to a specific project involving the application of biostatistics, bioinformatics, data science, and/or machine learning to cancer genomics and precision oncology. She is looking forward to gaining hands-on experiences in cancer genomics, and is especially excited about the program’s multi-dimensional approach to mentorship, which pairs students with a scientific mentor, quantitative/computational mentor, and a student mentor.
