Panel Discussion at DLOV Conference

Second year doctoral student Octavious Talbot co-moderated a panel discussion on “Prison Cells and Psychiatric Units: On Deviance and Social Control” which discussed how the pathway to prison is often paved with unfair labels and misdiagnosis of mental illness. 

Part of the DLOV Conference (Different Lenses, One Vision), the panel explored the issue of labeling — whether by gender, race, sexual preference, criminal record, or medical diagnosis — and its repercussions on health and quality of life.
