On October 28th, faculty, students, alumni, and staff gathered in the Boston Red Sox Jimmy Fund Auditorium at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to celebrate David Harrington’s 70th birthday and to honor his long commitment to education, scholarship, and leadership. Attendees represented all three of Dave’s Harvard departments: Biostatistics and Computational Biology at Dana-Farber, Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Statistics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
Emceed by GSAS Dean Xiao-Li Meng, the symposium program included Tom Fleming, Margaret Shipp, Eleanor McFadden, Marie Davidian, Edward Benz, Andrea Troxel, Cheryl Jones, Michele Zemplenyi, and Dave himself. The afternoon was full of memories, inspirations, and the many lessons learned from Dave throughout the years.
