Distinguished Professor of Statistics, University of Technology Sydney
“Tips for navigating a successful and rewarding career”
Drawing on her long career, mostly at Harvard but for the past ten years back home in Australia, Professor Ryan will offer some perspectives about how to forge a successful and satisfying career in biostatistics. Topics will include how to pick good research problems, communication skills and the critical importance of finding good collaborators. Professor Ryan will also talk about some of the benefits and rewards of getting involved in the professional societies, drawing particularly on her many years experience with ENAR and now as President of ENAR’s parent society, the International Biometric Society. The session will be informal, with lots of time for discussion and interaction.
