A group of PhD students and professionals recently participated in the second training of “Quantitative Monitoring and Evaluation” organized by the African Center of Excellence in Data Science (ACE-DS) in collaboration with the African Research, Implementation Science, and Education (ARISE) Network and the Harvard School of Public Health. The training, which was supported by the McGoldrick Professional Development Program and co-taught by Biostats Phd candidate Sara Sauer, took place from June 24-29, 2019 at the University of Rwanda. The main objective of this short course was to prepare new cadres of decision makers and public health professionals in the use of statistics to support the efficacy and scalability of public health interventions, and translate research findings into policies and programs
