Statisticians for Justice Reading Group – Begins 4/7

Statisticians for Justice Reading GroupDoctoral students Eric Cohn and Stephanie Wu, along with Lecturer on Biostatistics Heather Mattie, are organizing a ‘Statisticians for justice’ reading group open to everyone in the department. Inspired by the ‘Eugenics and Statistics’ talk a few weeks ago, several students and members of the department have expressed interest in creating a department reading group centered around social justice and statistics.

The current plan is to meet every two weeks to discuss part of a chosen book– the first book will be Thicker than blood: how racial statistics lie by Tukufu Zuberi. The first meeting will take place next Wednesday evening, 4/7 – time and zoom link to come.

If you are interested in joining, please add your name and contact information to the list at the bottom of this doc.
