For the first time since the start of the pandemic, the Department gave an in-person welcome to the 2023 cohort of the Summer Program in Biostatistics and Computational Biology! Dr. John Quackenbush along with Dr. Marcello Pagano kicked off the program with Welcome Remarks. Eight undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students will spend the next 6 weeks participating in classes such as biostatistics, programming, health data science and computational biology. Students will also have the opportunity to engage with the biostatistics community during faculty seminars and professional development workshops. During the 6 weeks, summer program participants will work in groups on a research project alongside Harvard faculty and graduate student mentors. Students will present their work at “Pipelines Into Biostatistics”, the culminating symposium on July 13th. Learn more about this diverse group of participants including their educational backgrounds, goals for the program, and plans for the future.
