The Harvard Bioinformatics Core (HBC) is excited to announce that Postdoctoral Fellow Josephine Au was named as the winner of the recent Training Needs Survey, for which she received a $50 gift card. HBC was grateful to get nearly 200 replies to guide us on the Harvard community’s bioinformatics training needs.
HBC is also excited to announce the next workshop in our Spring 2024 series:

The skill set you need to succeed”: Accelerate with Automation — Making your code work for you.Current Topics in Bioinformatics series and is a free, hands-on workshop available to all Harvard affiliates. Foundation – Basic shell, or a working knowledge of Shell, is a pre-requisite for this workshop.

Free to all Harvard affiliatesAccelerate with Automation — Making your code work for you: This intermediate shell workshop builds upon the basic shell skills learned in The Foundation – Basic Shell. In this workshop, participants will learn how to write basic shell scripts and how to enhance the automation of those scripts through the implementation of loops as well as the incorporation of positional parameters. Participants will also be introduced to slurm arrays and their utility on a high performance cluster.
