New Staff Additions: Mirai Sahara, Ming (Mike) Yan, and Salman Ali

We are pleased to welcome Mirai Sahara, Ming (Mike) Yan, and Salman Ali to the Department of Information Technology as user support assistants.

They replace our interns: Jinhui (Jerry) Hong, Ryan (H) Hsu, and Wisly (Junior) Pericles.  Jerry and H have returned to Northeastern to continue their studies, whereas Junior has joined Brigham and Women’s Hospital IT to work on their Windows 7/10 migration project.

Mirai is the first of our Fall 2019 Northeastern University co-ops. He will be with us from July-December 2019. Mirai is originally from Brooklyn, NYC and is currently studying computer science.

Mirai is excited about this internship because he enjoys helping people as it is something he finds personally rewarding.

Interesting facts: Mirai’s hobbies include cooking, baking, photography, and music (guitar, ukulele, melodica).

Ming (Mike) Yan, is the second of our Fall 2019 Northeastern University co-ops. He will also be with us from July-December 2019. He is a third year computer engineering and computer science major.

Mike is originally from China, went to Hungary for high school, and then participated in Northeastern University’s semester abroad program at Greece before coming to NEU’s Boston campus.

Mike is passionate about writing computer programs that can be applied to problems in real life. He is looking forward to learning more about developing applications and seeking a career in application development.

Interesting fact:
Mike enjoys traveling and has visited more than 20 countries.

Salman Ali is our Year Up intern for Fall 2019. He will be with us from August 2019 through February 2020. Salman grew up in Dorchester MA where he and his family still reside.

Salman is very familiar with helping others with their technical issues and is excited to use those skills at SPH.

In Salman’s free time, he loves playing soccer, working out, and spending time with family and friends.

Interesting fact: Salman is  trilingual: he speaks English, Somali and Arabic fluently.
