We are pleased to announce the release of our new WordPress Training for New Publishers course offered via the Harvard Training Portal (HTP).
This asynchronous course, designed for admins who have been granted access to a School website, will cover the fundamentals necessary to manage websites in the Harvard Chan School WordPress platform.
The course consists of 11 video tutorials, and an interactive knowledge check to test your learning.

WordPress Tutorials
- Introduction to WordPress
- Create a new page
- Create a new post
- Insert images
- Create links
- Add a page to your menu
- Customize your homepage
Web Accessibility Tutorials
- Write good alt text for images
- Write accessible link text
- Identify headings, lists, and tables
- Provide captions for videos
Enrollees are required to click through all pages; and take the knowledge check to successfully “complete” the course and receive a certificate. In addition, you can re-launch the course and review specific videos on demand. This is version 1.0 of the course. We will be updating content on an ongoing basis.
