MAINTENANCE: Network, Thurs., 1/4/24, 10:00pm – 2:00am

Core network equipment will be replaced during the night of Thursday, 1/4/24. All wired and wireless networks will experience intermittent outages between 10:00pm and 2:00am EST.

In addition to modernizing the network hardware, this upgrade prepares the SPH campus for 100Gbps access to the Internet and other Harvard networks.  The current connection is 10Gbps.

The following services will be affected during the dates and times above:

  • All Virtual Desktop Systems
  • File and Print services
  • Mailman listservs
  • Local SMTP email services
  • FILR (web-based access to network drives)
  • Powerfaids and NetPartner
  • Wasabi
  • Passage Point
  • Harvard Phone (on the SPH campus)

All other services will be unaffected for remote users during the maintenance window, including the following.  (However, users on campus would be disconnected intermittently from these services.)

Regular monthly Server and Network maintenance will be Thursday, January 11.
