Time Needed to Process Appointments

The school’s policy is that all appointments should be processed in a timely manner, before an appointment start date. In cases when it is not possible to get an appointment package approved prior to the start date, the appointment may be backdated, but by no more than 30 days. Requests to backdate appointments more than 30 days will generally be denied.

All appointments, regardless of salary status, require a minimum two-week processing period. In cases when the appointment packet is not submitted at least two weeks before the start date, the department administrator should inform the appointee of the two-week processing period and of delays she/he will experience in receiving an ID card and first paycheck.
