Promoting Diversity

Harvard Chan RSA is making strides towards promoting a more diverse and inclusive community

In addition to the initiation of the RSA/PDA Mentorship Program, whereby Research Scientists provide mentorship to Postdoctoral researchers and Research Associates, prioritizing underrepresented and minority groups, the RSA has appointed a member of the council (Dr. Kerry Ivey) to represent the voices of Research Scientists in fostering cultures of diversity, inclusion & belonging at HSPH. This is achieved through her role in the Deans Advisory Committee on Diversity and Inclusion (DACDI – https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/dacdi/), and particularly in her role on the Strategic Planning Group (https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/dacdi/dacdi-working-groups/) that guides the direction of DACDI.  DACDI is charged with three major activities:

  • Support implementation of strategic diversity & inclusion priorities for the Harvard Chan School
  • Assess and provide critical feedback on the implementation of specific programs and activities in the space of diversity and inclusion
  • Support establishment of organizational unit cultures grounded in ongoing DIB learning & evidence-based practices
